About the Veterans' Oral History Project

The Veterans' Oral History Project was created under the supervision of Dr. Gregory Zieren, Department of History at Austin Peay State University. Dr. Zieren and his students collect oral histories by means of interviews with veterans of World War Two and the Korean War, as well as interviewing those non-military individuals who were on the World War Two Homefront.

These videos were collected on a number of mediums over the last ten years, including VHS, MiniDV, and raw digital, all of which have been converted for online accessibility by Scott Shumate, Digital Services Assistant for the Austin Peay State University Woodward Library.

All videos are in h.264 format and are available in streaming and downloadable format. Should you have any trouble streaming a video, the download alternative exists for ease of use. If you should continue to have trouble, please contact us at the Contact link at the bottom of this page.
